Update...
The new update is available on the App Store right now, here the basic details...
- Offline Singleplayer
The Singleplayer is now available offline only. There is no need for a registration and/or internet connection. You can play when you want and wherever you want.
- Local Games
With this update the biggest new feature is coming, local games.
You can now play against your friends via Bluetooth or a local WiFi without any internet connection.
- Retina Display
We have made new graphics for the great Apple Retina Display, now Pirate Battle looks sharper and better then ever!
- Random-Players
In "settings" you can now remove yourself from the random challenge function.
This means that you will not get any invitations from random players again.
- Scores
You can now remove all score tables. This does not mean that your score will be reset, only the the score will not be show anymore.
If you start a game with a user again, the score table will be displayed again.
- Online indicator
A small green "pirate" shows in "running games" if one of your opponents is in the game at this time, very helpful :)

As a small compensation for the german national team not making the finals this World cup, we will offer Pirate Battle for free this weekend starting Friday (07-09-2010) and ending Monday (07-12-2010)…

There is a new update out, here are the details...
- Single-Player Mode
You can now play in single-player mode. Be aware that for this you also need to be connected to the internet!
- We fixed problems with shooting
- We improved the performance of the game
- You can now disable the "Your turn" in-game message
- some more minor fixes

The new version has just been submitted to apple, here are the details of the update
- Registration
You dont need an email anymore to register. There is an activation for email notifications added though.
- Chat Icon
We insert the chat icon in running games and scores. The icon will appear, if a new chat message is waiting for you.
- Chat
You can now access the chat also after a game has been finished. In “scores” you can click on the game and the chat will open up.
- Close pending games
Now you can also backout from games which are pending. You can also backout from games where the opponent did not make a move for at least 72 hours. This has no effect on your scores!
- Slide to running games
While on the board you can now slide the screen to open up your running games.
- Alternative email
If you invite friends from your contact list you can now select from all saved email adresses

Can't wait to get more friends to get this game. I love the ability to play and chat with friends when we are miles apart. I also like the ability to play the computer in case others aren't able to play at the time. Totally nostalgic!! Thanks!

Great Game! I really enjoy the game and i have waste many hours playing this game! One of the best things in the game is the Chat. Its fun to make new friends from all over the world. This game is very addicting once u get hooked :-)
